[ He doesn't look at Obikawa directly, because he's still blind every now and then, but that sounded like a sudden swerve of footsteps. ]

"Weren't you going somewhere else? Also, your hunger is just your imagination."

[ Hien eats like he's starving every day anyway. ]

That's not my name! And I was going this way now.

[The previous plans don't matter!! The now plans matter!! They really are just both out here eating so much all the time for literally no reason other than the love of the game.]

Wanting to eat food is basically the same thing, anyway.

"Okay, but there's a bunch of seafood stuff. You want fish? Octopus? Something else?"

Yeah! Every time I ask one of them, they say, "no, that's not me, that's this other guy"! And then the other guy says the same thing! Stupid.

[Why don't people know how to cook seafood so that he can mooch off of them, damn.]

What are you best at? I want to try that!

[ Hien thinks it's understandable since seafood is hard to work with, but he didn't realize it was this bad. ]

"I'm good at a lot of stuff, but tell me how you usually like your seafood. I like catering to specific people, not for the masses."

[The way that he does not know how truly stupid the whole situation was because the first guy actually directed him to Rafayel but Rafayel sent him to Ryuji JUST SNIPES THIS TEENAGER RANDOMLY. RAFAYEL YOU'RE SO FUNNY.

Anyway he looks kind of pleased to hear this and, after a very brief moment of thought:]

Grilled is good, especially over a bonfire or one of the really greasy grills at izakayas! I like tempura, too.

"Smoked and grilled... hm."

[ Hien thinking to himself that smoking stuff only works if he has hours of time, and he doesn't have that right now. ]

"Alright. Then how about grilled salmon and tempura shrimp udon?"

[Just sets off in a direction but like still kind of facing Hien as he goes. Does he even know where they're going.]

We should do a cooking competition next! Tokinaga can't get mad at me for that! Not this time, though.

[HE doesn't want to WORK he just wants to EAT. me too my guy]

[ fuckin mood. Hien realizes the problem and this is troubling because the maze shifts how ever the fuck it wants at any given time, so. He grabs Obikawa's hand... or at least tries to. Nothing stopping Obikawa from being a Lil shit and moving his hand away.

Because Hien attempts to teleport them both to the monochrome kitchen.

They land on the stove. ]

[HE WON'T NOODLE AWAY if only because this version of Hien is not the one that makes his hair stand on end. So there's just like a curious racoon sort of look in the split second before they LAND ON THE STOVE.]

Woah—! Kitchen?!

[Probably squishes Hien a bit in his surprised scramble to right himself.]

He ends up being squished a bit but he wiggles out and onto the floor. ]

"It gives weird vibes from time to time, but it should be fine."

[ like him feeling like he's at the judges panel where he gets war flashbacks to five star michelin restaurant experiences that he wishes he never had. All experiences are worthy, except that one. ]

[He does not seem too concerned though. HE DOESN'T HAVE WAR FLASHBACKS TO FIVE STAR MICHELIN EXPERIENCES. Hien why. Also whaps his shoulder.]

I didn't know you could do that? [The way he sounds kind of questioning because he actually has a lot of new information about Hien to sort through, my god.]

It's stupid. [The power suppression. HE WOULDN'T HAVE ENDED UP IN THE DAMN RIVER TWICE WITHOUT IT.] But that's just what happens when you go into someone else's domain.

[ Hien figures that Obikawa is more familiar with "domains" more than anything else, which is a great comparison point to, say, worlds or pocket dimensions. ]

"They want insurance that they won't get attacked too badly in their own territory. It would be pretty embarrassing otherwise, right?"

It would be funny! [IT'D BE HILARIOUS.] But I can't be too mad, since I was the one who decided to come in here.

[ It's not like desire is absent in gods--in fact, there's plenty of it from what Hien has experienced by seeing others who also claim to be gods, but...

He goes to gather ingredients when he has his vision back for a moment. ]

[Said with genuine bafflement. Sometimes you are both smart and also a simpleton who's like oh time to go into the void to get this person back. The idea that someone could roll in with an entirely different reason has not yet occurred to his ass.]

Just different people, right? [He does not find it very imperative to ask who the people here have come for; just knowing that alone is enough for him. Shuffles over while he's doing whatever the hell to watch more closely...]

[ Hien still has his sight on so he's doing ingredient prep. He wants to put crab meat in there so he's snapping crabs in half in the sink with his bare hands. ]
