[ A few hours after the death, Hien can be seen lying down near the river flat on his back with his checkerboard patterned eyes wide open, looking up at the "sky".

He knows Mafuyu is there, but he doesn't react to her presence. He's fully aware of what he did, and thinking back to their first encounter of when he was a puppy in order to not scare her... it all seems funny now. He won't initiate things unless she does, so that she can be given control of a situation. ]

[ Appreciated.

Mafuyu studies him for a moment, then slowly sinks down to sit beside him and his pancaked self. ]

How are you feeling?

[ Hien momentarily closes his eyes, but reopens them. ]

"Fine, but guilty about the earlier violence."

Did you want to hurt them?

"No. I didn't feel good about it either, because they're people I like."

[ ... ]

"I lashed out, because I thought I was nothing. All my memories and experiences... rendered to nothing. And being who I am, that part of me wouldn't stand for it."

[ She's quiet for a moment. ]

You know you're something, right? At the very least, to me.

"... I know I am now. Wherever I was really messed with my head into thinking I became nothing."

Hien can't help but to look over at Mafuyu and... laughs. Just a little. Like he can't believe what he just heard. ]

"I'm sorry. I know you're being serious, so thanks. I'm just... in disbelief at how forgiving you guys are."

I understand. Everyone is strange.

I've learned to accept it.
